Morning Routine: Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Style

Nothing is quite as good in the morning than a large bowl of oatmeal. This morning we decided to create one using fresh apples we picked up this weekend at the local farmers market.

Ingredients
1/2 cup old fashioned oats or quick oats
1 cup water
1 packet Truvia
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 Fuji apple; cut into chunks
1 teaspoon wheat germ
1/4 cup light vanilla soy milk
1 tablespoon no sugar added applesauce
1 teaspoon flaxseed

Directions:

1. In a large bowl combine oatmeal, wheat germ, cinnamon and Splenda packet with the water and microwave for 3-3:30 minutes.

2. Once the oatmeal is cooked (length varies depending on microwave) you add the vanilla soy milk, apple chunks, flaxseed, and applesauce to the top. To finish, sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon!

Nutritional Info: Less than 300 calories for all of that healthy goodness! How could anyone resist this in the morning?

This oatmeal goes well paired with our pumpkin spice flavored coffee. We can’t get enough of this wonderful fall flavor that’s beginning to be spotted everywhere! Enjoy 🙂
