Overnight Oats

We are definitely oatmeal kinda people. Our go to breakfast is usually some type of oatmeal creation. For the past couple of months we have seen tons of recipes for overnight oats but something about them just did not seem appealing. Finally, we decided to just give them a try…. and boy were we definitely missing out! Overnight oats are amazing and will definitely now be a regular breakfast go-to in the future!

This morning we decided to have apple & cinnamon overnight oats but there are so many different combinations you could try! Here are the ingredients and directions we used:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup quick oats
3/4 cup of light vanilla soy milk
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 splenda packet
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp wheat germ
2 tsp apple cinnamon granola
1/2 apple

Directions:

1. In a mason jar (or any tall glass you have on hand) combine the oats, milk, cinnamon, applesauce, sugar packet, and wheat germ together. Simply combine all the ingredients, give it a shake, and put it in the fridge overnight.

2. The following morning take the oats out of the fridge about 20 minutes before you plan on eating them to remove the chill. Then top with 1/2 apple, granola and a dash of cinnamon and enjoy!

If cold oatmeal seems weird to you we encourage you to give these a try! You will not be disappointed.. we promise 🙂
