Pancakes In A Jar

19 Feb

Happy Tuesday! Today we have a new breakfast recipe for you guys! Pancakes are a typical American breakfast food. Yummy, yes. Healthy, no. That statement changes with these new pancakes. They are so easy to make and only require 2 ingredients! (3 if you count the dash of cinnamon you can add if you prefer) The jar part comes in a little later.

Ingredients:
1 egg
1 banana

Directions:
1. Take a banana and mash it in a bowl with a fork. Once mashed, crack an egg into the bowl and mix.
2. Spray a frying pan with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Once hot make tablespoon sized pancakes and cook 2-3 minutes on each side. They will be easy to flip once ready, so if you’re having trouble flipping them they probably are not ready to be flipped yet.

Once you are finished making all your pancakes you can move onto the fun part. Making your pancake greek yogurt parfait. We layered ours with the following ingredients but the combinations are endless and completely up to you.

Jar Ingredients:
6oz strawberry chobani greek yogurt
1 teaspoon chai seeds
1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1 tbsp granola

Jar Assembly Directions:
1. Our layers looked like this. Pancake, greek yogurt, strawberries, chai seeds, repeat. All the way up to the top.
2. Put in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning take out 5 minutes before consumption. Top with granola and enjoy. Trust me, they are going to become a basic in your breakfast meals.
