New York City Takes on the McKain Twins

4 Mar

You know the anticipation you have leading up to a big trip? You make all of these little plans in your head of what you want to do, where you want to go, and what you want to see. Instead of paying attention in your French class you find yourself daydreaming about the trip ahead. You get these indescribable, butterfly like feelings in your stomach as think about it. But they are nice butterfly like feelings. Something one could get used to. That’s how we felt about this trip. We waited and waited for the day to come. March 1, and we would be on our way to the “Big Apple”. Finally, the day arrived. We felt as if the weeks before had dragged by slowly. But then all of a sudden, time sped up and the weekend went by too fast.

We shopped.

We packed ahead for a healthy breakfast and snacks.

We ate at the Chobani bar.

We stayed at a beautiful, classy hotel that was probably the size of a cruise ship.

We walked around Time Square, a lot.

We made oatmeal in our hotel room.

We rode on the Subway.

We went to Whole Foods and FINALLY got the salad bar.

Kayla presented at her first ever EPA Psychology conference.

And then, we went home.

But not before we stopped at Trader Joe’s along the way.

And grabbed lunch for the drive home.

What a marvelous weekend you gave us NYC.
