Friday Favorites [2/14/14]

14 Feb

Love is in the air today! Can you feel it?
We can! So we wanted to share our Friday favorites with you today!

1. Noosa Yogurt

We recently bought honey noosa at the grocery store after hearing about it on Katheats and finding it on sale! We typically lean towards plain greek yogurt so there is not much added to the yogurt besides the basics, but this yogurt sparked our interest because it is filled with REAL ingredients that you can actually recognize on the label. It is not quite as thick as Greek yogurt, but it still has a thicker consistency than regular yogurt. We definitely want to keep our eyes out for more of their other flavors.

2. Buckwheat quinoa granola

This is our third time making a batch of this stuff! It is just that good. It’s a mixture of rolled oats, quinoa, pumpkin seeds, almonds, cinnamon, and honey! It’s perfect for yogurt parfaits and smoothie bowls! If you’re interested in the recipe, you can find it on our blog here!

3. Weekends with fun plans

We are so excited for this weekend! Tonight we have dinner plans with one of our best friends, Nicole! We are making peanut pumpkin stew and drinking sweet red by the fireplace! Who needs men anyways when there is good food, girl talk, and vino?

Saturday morning we are hitting the road early to drive to Lock Haven to meet our cousin, Kate to help her wedding dress shop! Weddings are so much fun and we are so excited she invited us along! We have not had the chance to see each other for so long, and are extra excited for an opportunity to get together! Even better is that we get to see our aunt too! Thankfully we got someone to cover our shifts at work so we could spend the weekend together. Short road trips are the best.

4. Afternoon tea

Lately with these below freezing temperatures we have been warming up our afternoons with a cup of tea. Our current favorite flavors include Tazo Calm and Yogi Stress Relief. We can go through a box pretty quickly!

5. Homemade whole wheat pizza

Have we mentioned that we love our bread maker, because if not, we absolutely love our bread maker! We made this honey whole wheat pizza dough in the bread machine. It was so simple. Then we used a hot pizza stone, fresh mozzarella, and arugula and called it a night. [It was perfectly paired with some Troegs]

6. Looking through your Iphone photos

The best moments are when you are scrolling through your photos on your phone and you come across a few you forgot you took. This is a prime example.

Friday Favorites #4

27 Dec

Happy Friday! With the holiday spirit all around us, so many things are filling our lives with joy lately! Here are some of the things that are making our lives extra special these past few days.

Buddha Bowls.

These bowls are perfect and rest naturally in the palm of your hand. They are pretty much perfect for eating just about anything out of them. We love to use them for yogurt, oatmeal, and soup!

Pink Sea Salt.

A couple month ago we snagged this container of pink sea salt at TJ Maxx and are in love. Just a dash on top of anything takes a dish from great to amazing.

XL Containers of Almond Butter.

We love MaraNatha’s almond butter and were pretty disappointed when we went to pick up a container at our local Cosco not once, but twice, and found out they were out of stock both times! When they finally got back in stock we picked up two just to make sure we would be okay for a few weeks or so. We love almond butter and for $7 a container, you can’t beat Cosco’s price anywhere!

Vanilla Almond Hand Lotion.

We opened these fabulous hand lotions from Anthropology on Christmas morning and are already obsessed. The aroma is to die for and the lotion makes our hands super smooth.

Aroma Professional Rice Cooker.

We’ve been eyeing rice cookers for a while now and were ecstatic to open one on Christmas morning from our step siblings. We haven’t used it yet but were excited to try large batches of brown rice, bulgur wheat, quinoa, and oatmeal!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We’re heading out to the mall this afternoon to do some after Christmas shopping! We hope we find some good deals. This weekend we’re planning on trying out our new rice cooker. Does anyone have any rice cooker tips for us?

Friday Favorites

13 Dec

Happy Friday everyone! We decided to do another post on some of our favorite things lately. If you like this post, make sure to check out some of our previous Friday favorite posts.

1. Les Mills Body Pump

Now that we’re both living in the same country again we’ve started back up going to our body pump class at 5:40 am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and we could not be happier. There is really no better feeling than having your workout for the day accomplished by 6:30 am.

2. Bananas and Almond Butter

If we ever need a quick and easy snack combination this is our go-to. More often than not we find ourselves craving this amazing duo, especially with almond butter or cinnamon raisin swirl peanut butter.

3. SinfulColors professional nail polish in nirvana.

We think that this color is the perfect shade of gray. Not to light, not to dark, just right. You can score this nail polish along with many other fabulous colors at Target for less than $2.

4. Online Deals.

We are completely done with our christmas shopping thanks to amazing deals we scored online. We love shopping but it’s definitely nice to beat the crazy crowds that are out around this time of the year.

5. Fage greek yogurt.

We are loving on Fage lately. We love that their plain greek yogurt is super thick and makes for the perfect blank canvas for breakfast, lunch, or a snack.

6. French toast flavored coffee.

We scored a bag on the clearance rack at TJ Maxx the other day for $3. We were so in love with the flavor combination that we flew through the bag in less than a week. Sadly, this is all that’s left.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone!

We are so happy it is Friday! Of course our plans for the weekend involve working but we still have a few fun activities planned including a Fathers Day breakfast with our family on Saturday morning at a quaint local place in Mt. Gretna. Fathers day is definitely not a fun day for us. It is one of those days where we are jealous of every single person who actually gets to hug their father. Do us a favor and give your dad an extra hug on Sunday and let him know just how much he means to you! We know we would if we could. Love you daddy.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend! Here are a few of our Friday Favorites and things we are loving lately!

Favorite person: Our friend, Rebecca Myers! These are some of the photos we took with her last week. Look how amazing these turned out! She is such a talented photographer.

Favorite bite: Kirkland’s plain Greek yogurt! 1 cup has 24 grams of protein and the ingredients list is down to a minimum. That’s what we like to see and we have been enjoying it all week for breakfast!

Favorite pastime: Spending time with friends! With everything that has happened in our lives, we know one thing is for sure. Never have any regrets, and live life to the fullest. Best friend time has been maximized lately! It’s important they know how much they mean to us.

Favorite home: Our garden. It is growing at full speed and soon our radishes will be ready. We already have gotten the first few grape tomatoes and mixed greens.

Favorite heathy dinner in 5: Amy’s Lentil Soup. The ingredients list is minimal and they are very tasty! As much as we love making our own soup sometimes grabbing one of these is all that we have time for. There are no excuses, you can still eat healthy with a busy schedule!

Favorite fur ball: Miss Luna gets cuter and cuter everyday. We never thought we’d become one of those kitten picturing posting momma’s but we are a little obsessed, we apologize. She’s just so cute we can’t resist sharing.

Favorite activity: Our mother, daughter, grandma date at The Hershey Pantry on Wednesday. The grilled caprese-style chicken salad was amazing.

Favorite mmm: Banana Oat Bread. We’ve been looking for a new recipe to make for an upcoming family get together and this just might be it.

Favorite sandwich: Feta-stuffed turkey burgers. Need we say more?

Favorite find: This chart that tells you which vegetables are in season at certain times of the year. Buying vegetables that are in-season is a great way to save money!

Favorite quote: This picture may have just inspired us to create our own 101 in 1001 days list (more on this coming next week).
