We love Wednesdays. Especially Wednesdays after snow days. Snow days that leave us stranded at home curled up by the fire with Grey’s and a heavy pour of sweet red in our hand. Here’s a picture recap of yesterday’s eats. It was a good food day indeed.

Have you ever tried toasted coconut coffee? Heaven.

After coffee we started the day with a banana dough boy smoothie. Kath sure knows how to make a mean smoothie. 20140121-185752.jpg

Snacky lunch. Tuna, avocado and greek yogurt dip with Late July tortilla chips, red pepper slices, cucumber slices and an apple on the side. Lunch is just so much more fun when it involves dunking chips.

Late afternoon we enjoyed a small yogurt parfait filled with Chobani, blackberries, and granola. If we must say it was a pretty tasty combination.

Dinner was whipped up in a matter of minutes thanks to some meal planning earlier in the week. Already cooked bulgur wheat, grape tomatoes, chicken, melted mozzarella, roasted brussels sprouts and homemade lemon tahani dressing over a big bowl of mixed greens.

It was a well enjoyed snow day that may or may not have ended with a small bowl of blueberry oatmeal with a blob of almond butter on top. Let’s be honest, a day without nut butter is a pretty sad day. wiaw

Happy Wednesday! We hope you have a great day. Just think you’re halfway through the week already.  For all of you who are still enjoying another snow day, we are jealous! Don’t forget to head on over to Peas and Crayons to see what everyone else is eating today too!

What A Marvelous Monday

18 Feb

Happy Monday! Hoping we find you on this Monday morning feeling refreshed, well rested, and ready for the week ahead. We are linking up with http://healthydivaeats.com once again with her Marvelous Monday linkup. We want to know what was special about your weekend! Did you find any great deals? Did you try any new recipes? Did you try any new products? Fill us in, we love hearing from you.

How was our weekend? It was just what we needed. Busy enough to keep us on our toes but not too busy. We crafted, we cooked, and we worked.

We will start with work. We work at a consignment store in our area. People bring in their old clothes and we take them and try to sell them in our store. If you live in the Hershey, PA area you should check it out sometime. You can make a lot of money on your old clothes if they are still in top condition. We have gotten some pretty awesome designer items there in the past four years. The list includes a pair of red UGGs, Marc Jacobs dress pants, True Religion jeans, and tons of our favorite brand, Free People. The perks and the discount pay off. We love having the opportunity to be stylish and help others pick out cute outfits as well! This weekend we found True Religion jeans for $7.50 and a Banana Republic dress skirt for $3.40. Now that’s the definition of marvelous if you ask me.

Saturday night was spent being crafty and fashionable. We picked out outfits for the upcoming week. We always like to plan ahead so we feel confident in the morning that we have enough time to get ready for school and know we will be looking stylish. We made the coolest gifts for our future bigs. We would share it with you but we’re afraid one of the sisters might see it. So we promise we’ll reveal it when it’s safe. Here’s a clue.

We also tried some new recipes and stuck to some old. What’s a marvelous weekend without some good eatin’? Here are some pictures to show you! Check out the homemade crab cakes in the pictures below. We threw this and that into a bowl and they turned out fantastic. That’s the best part about cooking, you can just add things as you go.

Chobani Pineapple Carmel Bite topped with Love Crunch granola. This was our first time trying Chobani bites and the flavor of the yogurt was out of this world! It would be the perfect light snack for anyone with a sweet tooth. Each is only 100 calories, major plus!

Mashed bananas, honey, cinnamon, and egg beaters scrambled together and topped with PB, dried cranberries, and honey nut medley. This interesting combo is coming up later this week in a post, no worries.

Greek yogurt power bowl with strawberries, kiwi, banana, PB, and cinnamon almonds. Plain greek yogurt goes with everything. We are officially obsessed with the original.

Smoothie in a Bowl: banana, almond milk, PB2, and granola on top. Smoothies are just that much more fun in a bowl, eaten with a spoon.

Homemade crab cakes, asparagus, and red quinoa mixed with kale, tomatoes, onion, and garlic. For our romantic twin dinner with candles and all.

Lunch yesterday with the last of our homemade minestrone soup, a whole wheat english muffin filled with tomato slices, mozzarella cheese, and spinach and an apple to finish off the meal.

And last but certainly not least one of our favorite new salads. Baby spinach, sweet potato, grape tomatoes, blue cheese, strawberries, cilantro hummus, and multigrain bread drizzled with balsamic dressing.
